When we started the 2018-2019 bar year, we set a goal to do more outreach with our Local Affiliates. To that end and in conjunction with TYLA’s Local Affiliates Committee, I’m proud to announce that as of April 27, that Roadshows for District 26 (N/W Texas) have been completed in:
- Tyler
- North Texas (Collin County)
- Downtown Dallas
- Texarkana
- El Paso
Note that even if you were unable to attend any of this year’s Roadshows, the Bar Leaders Conference is coming up on July 26-27, 2019 in Houston. This will be a great opportunity for us to catch up in person and if you or your affiliate leaders plan to attend, please make sure to introduce yourself to us.

Also, I’m proud to announce that Hisham Masri of Jackson Lewis in Dallas, has been elected to serve as the next ABA Young Lawyer Representative for District 26 (covering North/West Texas)!
Hisham has been a leader of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers for several years and has most recently chaired DAYL’s diversity committee. He will be attending the upcoming ABA conference in Washington, D.C., to learn more about this new role and to serve as one of our delegates.
Remember, all licensed Texas lawyers 36 years old or younger or in their first five years of practice, regardless of age, are automatically members of TYLA.
